Still out of work. Networked with everyone I know. Can not get a foot in the door any where.. Sound sorry for my self? You betcha!!

Still looking for a job..

I have posted my resume on all of the major job boards. Who do I hear from? Every staffing agency in town. Get calls from them telling me that I am a perfect fit for their client. Can you come in for an interview. Go in for the interview, job opportunity I was a perfect fit for has suddenly been filled.

Maybe something in the way I come across in the interview that makes the job suddenly disappear. I am looking into that. BUT, at one of these staffing agencies, they had no opportunities for me downtown and that I should contact the hiring managers on my own. Hmmm....isn't that what you are suppose to be doing? I was also told that I should be going door to door and dropping off my resume with companies that I would like to work for. Another Hmmm...post 9/11, where you need to check in with security even if you have an appointment, they are going to let me in to wander around the building to solicit my resume! Staffing agencies suck and I am more depressed.

Over 50 and Out of Work...

And have been looking for a job since March of 2008. What is it with employers? They want someone with 30-years experience, paying 1980 wages, and have to be 25-years old. Explain that to me!! I just do not get it and it makes me depressed.
